Mada Center Participates in the 19th Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2024

Mada Center proudly participated in the 19th Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), held from December 15th to 19th, 2024, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center (KAICC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Under the theme “Building Our Multistakeholder Digital Future”, this year’s forum marked a significant milestone, bringing together over 11,000 stakeholders from across the globe, including policymakers, academics, civil society representatives, private sector leaders, and technical experts. The discussions focused on addressing critical challenges posed by emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as the evolution of Internet governance frameworks.
As part of its commitment to advancing digital accessibility, Mada Center’s representative actively contributed to two impactful sessions, participating as a member of the Dynamic Coalition on Open Educational Resources (DC-OER) and the Dynamic Coalition on Accessibility and Disability (DCAD).
During the DCAD Annual Meeting on December 17, Mada’s representative collaborated with global coordinators and fellows to discuss pressing accessibility challenges, explore new opportunities, and Take part in the launch of the newly revised DCAD Accessibility Guidelines. On December 18, in a joint session between the DC-OER and DCAD, titled “Building Barrier-Free Emerging Tech through Open Solutions,” Mada’s representative shared valuable insights on Mada Center’s contributions to bridging the ICT accessibility gap in Qatar and beyond. He highlighted Mada’s flagship projects and emphasized the importance of emerging technologies, such as AI, and open solutions in fostering inclusivity and addressing the diverse needs of stakeholders worldwide.
