Description

This advanced workshop on the topic of employing assistive technology in the workplace, therefore, moves forward on how to integrate technology to assist employees with disabilities and enable more inclusive work. The workshop focused on identifying available assistive technology, how to use it, conducting comprehensive needs assessments, and legal and ethical considerations. Diversity for inclusion and a supportive work environment using assistive technology will be introduced.

Objectives

  • Understand the concept of accommodations in the workplace and the importance of assistive technology: Identify the role of assistive technology in creating an inclusive work environment that supports employees with special needs.
  • Identify a range of assistive technology and its applications: Discover the types of assistive technology available for different disabilities and identify their specific application areas in the workplace.
